Many different types of therapy come under the banner of talking therapy including, but not limited to; psychotherapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and counselling. The terms are sometimes used interchangeably by different people as people are becoming more aware of the different types of therapies available.
Talking therapies have been becoming more popular as mental health has been slowly becoming more of a topic more publicly discussed. Despite this shift; there is still reticence for some to open up to others about their issues, thoughts or feelings and in doing this it can be easy for our difficult experiences to become more challenging to navigate.
Through the NHS, many counselling services offer what is known as short-term support of between 6 - 12 sessions, depending on the agency and the nature of the client's needs. Private counselling can be an alternative with sessions being offered with a greater degree of flexibility to meet your needs. All services offered at Ash Tree Therapy are based upon client need and there is an open dialogue between client and therapist regarding therapeutic expectations, service availability and treatment plans.
I am fully qualified and accredited by the National Counselling Society to work with people on a 1:1 basis. I have experience working with all ages and I offer services from people aged 12 and up.
